Papa Root and Mama are the real deal. They were born in the south just after WW II and grew up in the '50's and '60's listening to the great songs and peformers from America's Golden Age of Rock and Roll. PapaRoot started to perform as a young teenager meeting a lot of the Hall of Fame names along the way. Married in the late '60's Papa and Mama began living the American dream filled with military service, kids and grand kids. Papa is the singer songwriter today for Americana rock's BluesRoot.

Papa and Mama Root grew out of that project to offer a slightly different view of the '50's and '60's music...and an affordable rockin' alternative to full tilt boogie bands.

Papa Root is 40-year veteran of the music business. He started out as a guitar player and singer with various 1960's era rock bands, recording his first single at the age of 17. In addition to being the songwriter, lead singer, guitar, and harmony player with Papa and Mama Root, he serves the same functions with Americana blues band, BluesRoot. Among his successful business pursuits was a long stint as a music promoter focusing on large venue family friendly events.

Mama Root has been involved with the music business during the last 40 years as well concentrating in artist relations and promotional activities. She is the backing harmony vocalist for both Papa and Mama Root and BluesRoot.

Rock Doc is a multi talented veteran musician playing drums, guitar, and keyboards as well as bass guitar. "Rock" is the regular third member of Papa and Mama Root when they expand from a duo to a trio, adding a strong bass foundation. He also appears with BluesRoot.

Home Cookin' is old school...a live 15 song CD full of the stories of life. The style is Americana influenced by '60's rock and roll, southern rock, country rock and folk rock.
